For two thousand years Herat’s distinctive coloured glass was traded along the length of the Silk Road. Ghulam Sekhi is one of the last in the ancient line of glass blowers. His mud brick workshop is at the base of Herat’s ancient citadel & by buying these glasses you are helping to build stability for Ghulam & keep this most precious of industries alive.

The vibrant colours from grinding the quartz, plant ash and natural oxides together . Each glass is blown by hand and then fired in a traditional nod brick kin.
